  • Welcome to the Brian Bands Series 1

    9th Feb, 2018 - Dear player/parent/coach, welcome to the Tennis Nelson Mandela Bay - Brian Bands series 1. Please note the following: Tuck shop facilities will be available at each venue. Due to the duration of the tournament this is a singles only event. There will be prizes for each age group winner and runner up. On the day Ruaan will be overseeing Collegiate, Karlo @ Pearson and Craig @ Summerwood.   Venues for each age group for both girls…

Facilities were good at both venues, with the exception of the lack of a tuck shop at Summerwood. The tuck shop at Pearson was excellent! One was however very close to shops to sort out the problem at Summerwood. What is a bit concerning though is the quality of line calling - especially in the younger age group. Apart from that, an overall great tournament, well organised and good communication.

An exception was made for two players who attended athletics first on Saturday morning. This resulted in very long waits for other players. Travelling long distances for these tournaments we feel that rules and schedules should be adhered to.

Also received an email that ALL venues would have a tuck shop. This was not the case and we did not bring food to the venue and the schedule was so disrupted it was difficult to slip away to eat somewhere else.
