KIEAN JENSEN (BS U12) in WP played Matthew van der Westhuizen (MVDW) and the line calling from MVDW was blatantly and deliberately false (aka cheating). We were sitting with a clear view to the lines and the balls were often 20cms on the inside of the line. We called the official at the venue and he did correct one call he caught, but the minute he turned his back the wrong calls continued. I think it is repulsive that some kids think it is acceptable. Someone overheard his mom saying after the match "...we really must talk to him about this". I understand we are representing a singular experience and nothing can therefore be done about this match.
BUT, would it not be an idea to increase the potential sanctions when kids are caught blatantly cheating on the lines. A single violation causes a warning, a repeated violation is a notice in the "book", and a repeated violation, in ANY MATCH on the day, is an automatic disqualification from that tournament. 3 strikes and you're out.
We've got to stop this madness! Some kids seem to think this is acceptable behaviour.
